Islanders fans must be going crazy right now, because not only did your brand new franchise center Bo Horvat score his first goal as Islander tonight, but the guy who set it up for him was Matt Barzal, the current face of the Islanders franchise. You can't write it any better than that.

Like the brand new, big trade piece that is supposed to save the season by scoring a goal, that was set up for him by the franchise guy. I'm surprised Long Island is still standing. Islanders should be going nuts over this. It should look like the purge because this is every single Islanders fan's wildest dream. I'm surprised Borelli's isn't having a sale right now because of this.

We all knew the Horvat trade was huge for the Islanders, and it seems to be having a good effect because since the trade the Islanders are 2-0, and completely dominated the Kraken, the top team in the Pacific, 4-0. I was critical that this move wasn't going to be enough, but after two games there are things to be hopeful about. It's not just gonna be a free fall down the standings for the rest of the season.
